TAHNYC (pronounced Tonic) is a clean beauty brand that creates a range of active filler-free skincare. Their “dew consistency” is what our products feel like because there are no added bulking, filling, texturizing add-ons to their formulas. Also, TAHNYC is without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, colourants and fragrances.

Our Concept Beauty, a newly launched online beauty retailer, kindly gifted me TAHNYC’s Natural AHAs Serum Water, which I will review in this post.

Natural Alpha-Hydroxy Acids Serum Water exfoliates and resurfaces uneven skin tone and dry patches while respecting sensitive skin. It uses a combination of natural fruit extracts (AHA’s) to improve skin texture and tone, help smooth fine lines and remove dead skin cells. AHA’s increase skin cell turnover, which helps to shed damaged skin cells and resurface the skin.

The benefits to susceptible skin are using this in place of a manual exfoliant (scrubs). However, those with sensitive skin should always introduce products and start using them once a week before making incremental increases.

HOW TO USE

Use as part of a PM routine on freshly cleansed skin before other product use. Dispense 1-2 pumps onto clean fingertips and distribute using fingertips of both hands to pat onto face and neck gently. Allow skin 10 minutes rest before completing the remaining routine.

THOUGHTS

As someone who has previously suffered from severely sensitive skin due to over-exfoliation, I am confident about using this product. The “dew consistency” means it is susceptible to spillage, so I recommend using it over a sink. Usually, I would feel some mild tingle from AHA’s. However, this one does feel as gentle as water but does remove build-up. This serum water is one of a range of seven, although with the more comprehensive TAHNYC range.
