Hello,
I literally just want to snuggle up under a duvet and hibernate until the Spring. Especially since the nights are so long, I really struggle and so making things cozy is as good as it gets for me. To create an extra cozy feel especially around my work space, I love using candles.
In this post I would like to share with you my 5 favourite candles which I think will make you feel just as cozy as me this season. I noticed not all of them can still be bought in the stores (because I always purchase in pairs, one for the following year) so I may make a few alternative suggestions of things I have found similar.
NEXT – Fireside collection
In my opinion this candle is ideal for this time of year and I am devastated that I didn’t get a larger one last year. The reason for this is I checked online and I can not find it so I hope it does return in some form. You can tell by the packaging and the detailing that this is made to make you feel luxurious. The scent makes me think of sitting by the fire with a nice big duvet that has just left the wash.
TK MAXX (Homesense) – Pumpkin
I picked this one up last year in Homesense (the home section of TK Maxx) and it was not only affordable but also fills the room with pumpkin yumminess. Generally I love visiting here for many of my needs (including stationary) and you never know what treats you will find next. It is so hard to find an inexpensive two wick candle and this one was only £5.99.
This was for sure an affordable alternative to Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir scent (which I love when it is cold). Again I picked up two although it was in the sale at the beginning of the year, I am unable to see it in stock online yet. I did want to highlight though that in general the Boots own brand candles do smell really good.
Shearer Candles – Orange Pomander
I have zero idea when I picked this one up in England as their stores are in Glasgow (normal I only visit Edinburgh). That aside, this is one of my favourite scents and I think the orange smells really authentic.
Non-Seasonal alternatives
Decleor – Relaxing Scented Candle
I am not going to lie I don’t even need to burn this one since it smells so good that when I remove it from the packaging, the room fills with its fragrance. This is a good all rounder since it is more of an aromatherapy candle, that said you are less likely to see me lighting any in the summer months. Neroli, petitgrain, amber and cedar makes this candle a great one to use to unwind at the end of the day.
Aromatherapy Associates – Relax
I am adding this one to this as it’s another of my aromatherapy favorites. Although it is again another great all-rounder I do think that the West Indian Bay & Myrrh combination makes it particularly enjoyable in the long nights.
