Showering is one of the most refreshing and rejuvenating activities you can do for your body. But have you ever heard of an everything shower? It’s a shower that targets every part of your body and mind, leaving you feeling clean and energised. It’s like a whole body reset ritual getting you feeling your best, which I can get behind. So, if you are interested in hearing more about an “Everything Shower”, then keep on reading to learn the essential steps:
Step 1: Set the mood
To fully enjoy your everything shower, you need to set the right mood. This could mean dimming the lights, playing soothing music, and lighting a scented candle. Setting the mood will help you begin to disconnect, relax and get into the right mindset for a luxurious shower experience.
Dry body brushing is one of my favourite pre-shower activities. Not only does this help with circulation, but it also leaves the skin feeling smooth. Also, if I have not the night before, I tend to pre-poo as the shower steam helps my hair before I shampoo.
Step 2: Get the Water Temperature Right
The water temperature is crucial for a successful everything shower. You want to make sure it’s not too hot or too cold. The ideal temperature is between 98 and 102 degrees Fahrenheit. The perfect temperature will help open up your pores and allow for a thorough cleansing. If you are like me, I prefer mine on the warmer side; however, I always turn this down towards the end of my shower, which is also when I shampoo my hair.
Step 3: Use the Right Products
Using the right products is essential for achieving an everything shower. You want to use a gentle body wash on the skin and won’t dry it out. Look for products that contain natural ingredients like aloe vera and coconut oil. You also want to use a loofah or exfoliating glove to help remove dead skin cells and promote circulation.
Step 4: Start from the Top and Work Your Way Down
When showering, start from the top and work your way down. This will ensure that you get all the spots. Start by washing your hair and then move on to your face, neck, and shoulders. Work your way down to your arms, chest, and stomach. Finally, move on to your legs, feet, and toes.
Step 5: Rinse and Repeat
To thoroughly cleanse your body, it’s important to rinse and repeat. After washing each section of your body, rinse thoroughly with warm water. Then, repeat the process with your body clean and loofah or exfoliating glove.
Step 6: Finish with a Cold Rinse
To invigorate your body and promote circulation, finish your everything shower with a cold rinse. A cold water rinse will help close your pores and leave you feeling refreshed and energised.
Step 7: Double Moisturise
To get the skin supple and glowing:
- Moisturise as soon as you step out of the shower. If you want your skin glowing, then a double moisturise is perfect.
- While the skin is wet, apply a light oil all over the body and massage it.
- Apply moisturiser to hydrate the skin deeply once the oil has been absorbed.
An everything shower is a great way to pamper yourself and achieve a thorough cleanse. Following these key steps, you can enjoy a luxurious shower experience that will leave you feeling clean, refreshed, and rejuvenated.
The Nothing Shower
Suppose everything and everything showers seem a bit much for you, then how about trying a nothing shower? A nothing shower is just that, a shower with nothing in it. Run water over your body, and you’re done! You won’t be able to achieve the same level of deep cleansing as with an everything or everything shower, but the purpose of these is to allow your mind to zone out when things are completely overwhelming. Take some time to focus on the sound of the water and feel your stress melt away.
Ensuring you’re using the correct water temperature is essential no matter which type of shower you choose. Too cold and you won’t feel as relaxed. Too hot, and you could risk burning your skin. Take some time to experiment with different temperatures until you find what works best for you.
