Must-have top red lipsticks this season

Hello,

I have noticed everything is in red this season including lips but finding the right shade to match for you is not always as easy as it seems. Even I find it frustrating and so to help I thought I would share with you my favourites which will hopefully help. These are a mixture of both affordable and luxury so there should be something for what ever you are looking for.

3ina £7.95

I selected two shades for you to check out which are 500 & 508. These are really good all day and night shades of red both are not too deep nor too bright. Since they are a matte lip product, they’re long lasting and require no re application throughout the day. Generally what I like about 3ina is that their products are reasonably priced and of good quality and vegan.

Makeup Revolution £6.00/£4.00

There are several red lip products from MUR so I am going to highlight a couple. If you prefer to have a matching liner, then you can pick up a lip kit which comes with a liquid lipstick and a matching liner. Rather than go with a matte I thought this season “Regent”, which is from the metallic lip kit, is perfect on nights out. Alternatively one of staples from the entire collection has to be the Renaissance lipsticks in the shade “Classic”.

Joan Collins £18.00

I have recently discovered this range and the lipsticks are mainly made up of red and pink shades so it goes without saying there is one here. Specifically the shade “Crystal”, which I would describe as a Hollywood glamour deep red shade. If you have a fair skin tone then I would say you may find this more of an evening shade but still a very wearable one. The thing I particularly like about the lipstick range in the A/W seasons is that they are tested and shown to improve the hydration levels in the lips after 30 days.

Elf red lipstick

Elf £4.50

This is in the shade Ruby Red which is easy to pick up from any stockist or local Superdrug which is why it is definitely one to check out and is a velvet matte shade. Again this is a slightly deeper red much like the previous shade also as it is a lipstick so you may need to take it with you for a midday top up.

Sleek £4.99

Another easily accessible range is the Sleek Matte Me Lip products and they have a great red which I think will suit anyone. That is the shade “Fired up” and glides on like a crème but dries matte.

NARS red lipstick

NARS £21.00

Jungle Red is a nice semi-matte lip shade should you not be that sure what you want. Although semi-matte this still provides you with full coverage and has a range of conditioners and antioxidants to hydrate your lips which is great this time of year.

Jane Iredale

This shade (Gwen) is one that I need to pull out fron my drawer as it is 100% perfect for this season day and night. What makes it even better is that the formula is heavily moisturizing. The colour is very clearly one I would wear in the day as well as night and is a great one for those of you who love a good red.

I know there are so many popular shades out there however I thought these would provide a good alternative selection.

What’s your favourite red lip product?
