The summer holiday season is in full swing, making it no better time to plan your makeup travel essentials. Although exciting, this planning process can be stressful when you have a varied itinerary while on your getaway break. Another thing to consider is what the destinations have in their local drugstore collections. Whether packing for a full glam in the heat or carry-on only, I have a roundup of all you need in this blog post.
Organiser
An excellent but sturdy organiser is a must-have companion for your getaway. Although everyone is different in terms of their tastes, some key considerations would be whether it is water-resistant and whether you need something structured or adaptable.
Primer
If you prime, then I would go from a combined prime and setting spray. Using a dual-use product not only saves space but also simplifies your routine.
Multi-use applicator
If fingers are not for you, then the proper selection of tools will be essential to a flawless makeup look. A dual-ended brush for shadow works a treat. I’ve found that providing it has a blending brush and a flat end. You should be able to create the look you want. You can never go wrong with a good sponge for the rest of your face. If you prefer a matte look, I’d also consider carrying a powder brush that you can carry on your night out.
Complexion base
If you’re someone who prefers a clean girl look, then a tinted buildable moisturiser with SPF would be perfect for you. My favourite is Rare Beauty, which has excellent coverage and SPF protection.
If you prefer the full coverage base, check out Huda Beauty, which I’ve used on my oily skin, and it still lasts all day. You can also use it to conceal those under your eyes for a more naturally flawless look on vacation.
Lip tint
Lip tint adds a pop of colour whilst moisturising those lips and giving them a healthy sheen. A plumping gloss is a good option if you like a bit of plumping included.
Multi-use eyes & cheek
Another space and the time-saving product is the multi-use eye & cheek colour products. For that clean girl look, a bronzer is always a good call.
Brows
Brows are a must even if you have no makeup, so I’d recommend tinting before you go on holiday and filling in sparse areas quickly with your product choice.
Lashes (natural/strip)
You can never go wrong with good mascara. However, my faves are not waterproof. They are still long wearing even if you have watery eyes like me.
