With many acne-busting tips, many still need to address the scarring that’s left. In this post, I will review the Banish 2.0 and kit, a patented Banisher 2.0 micro-needling tool that stimulates collagen production in the skin to help reduce acne scars, fine lines, and dark spots.
What Is Microneedling
Microneedling, percutaneous collagen induction therapy, is a skincare procedure that creates tiny punctures in the skin and triggers its healing process. The process speeds up the normal skin cycle, helping to even skin texture and tone, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and removing acne scars. I will discuss this in more detail in an upcoming post. The derma roller device is the most familiar at-home tool, which involves rolling a small wheel with hundreds of tiny needles over the face.
Banish 2.0 device
The Banisher micro-needling tool has gold-plated bristles that help promote collagen, and gold has antimicrobial properties. The thinner bristles are safer, and the microchannels will close up more quickly. Also, the device is In comparison, derma roller needles are thicker and roll into and out of the skin at an angle that scoops out the skin and can cause irritation.
Banish Kit 2.0 Includes:
- Patented gold-plated Banisher microneedle tool
- Vitamin C Serum ( previously named Banish Oil )
- Full simple instructions
Banish Serum: A freshly made vitamin c serum with ferulic acid and vitamin E. It’s gentle and hydrating on the skin and leaves you with a long-lasting dewy glow. It arrives clear since they are freshly made, meaning the vitamin C hasn’thasn’t oxidized. Oxidized vitamin C turns yellow and orange, which means it doesn’t work anymore. So far, I have had this for three weeks, and it hasn’t oxidised yet; however, I will continue to monitor this.
Vitamin C Creme: A natural moisturizer with all the collagen-plumping benefits of Vitamin C. To be used as a night creme and a day creme. Moisturizes skin without being overly greasy. The creme is more like butter (in an excellent way). A tiny amount goes a long way, so I can see this lasting some time.
Pumpkin Enzyme Masque: *not part of the kit* Preventative treatment for cystic acne, although suitable for all skin types. Made with a blend of raw pumpkin, lemon peel extract, orange peel extract, glycolic acid, bilberry fruit extract, and ginger root. Vitamin C and Beta Carotene increase skin firmness and reduce the appearance of fine lines. As it is an exfoliant, there may be a tingle when initially applied to the skin, although this is normal and does subside without any irritation.
How to use
IT’S SO SIMPLE TO USE THE BANISH KIT AT HOME!
- Wash hands, clean face
- Fill the cap with alcohol to sanitize
- Use an alcohol wipe on the skin you’re stamping.
- Stamp banisher 3-5 times per area
- Apply banish serum, nothing else
- Use SPF the defender during daytime
- See the morning afterglow the next day.
Comparison summary of Banisher 2.0 with other micro-needling tools:
- Banisher is the only tool that is gold-plated. (Gold is antimicrobial)
- Banisher 2.0 ”needles” are much finer
- Banisher needles are also much shorter
- A patented sanitizing screw on the cap protects the Banisher and ensures thorough cleaning before each treatment session.
I am on my third week of treatment sessions and am beginning to see the initial signs of my most stubborn scarring fade. My skin, although relatively clear, has some of the most stubborn scarrings following adult acne I suffered in my mid-twenties around my left cheek and right chin area. (Read about what helped my skin recover in a previous post here). I also have a small deep scar on my left cheek which isn’tisn’t noticeable unless I point it out but has always frustrated me. For best results, it’s advised that you use the Banisher weekly, a mask three times a week and serum and creme daily. This was a little slower than someone who has used a derma roller because you can’t just roll it over the skin. However, it delivered better results as I didn’tdidn’t suffer any scratching from this treatment.
